Glover Park

Glen Allen, Virginia: The Future Has Its Cleats On

There’s a moment at Glover Park when the bags are down, the cleats are tied and the whole day still belongs to your team. A ball rolls across the turf. A teammate calls for it. Suddenly, the early alarm and the miles behind you seem like a small price for being here.

Glen Allen has a long history of people making good ground for the next generation. On nearby Mountain Road in the 1890s, educator Virginia Estelle Randolph took charge of a one-room school surrounded by a bare red-clay hill. She planted flowers and improved the grounds, spending her own money along the way. In 1908, she and her students planted twelve sycamore trees. There’s a lovely kind of faith in that work: doing something today that will give someone else room to grow tomorrow.

That belief has found a home at Glover Park. Since opening in 2018, the park has welcomed tournament teams, including players in the Richmond Strikers’ Jefferson Cup. Soccer, football and lacrosse share the turf, while eight sand volleyball courts give the afternoon another rhythm: a serve, a leap, a scramble through the sand.

Now we’re making room for the crack of a bat.

Scheduled to open in early spring 2027, Glover Park’s six-field turf baseball complex will include a dedicated stadium field. Prep Baseball will operate the complex and shape its tournament programming for players from 7U through 18U. For us, that means welcoming the full arc of a young player’s journey—from the first tournament jersey hanging past their elbows to the high school athlete stepping into the box with years of practice behind the swing. Baseball expansion and operations.

Picture the weekends ahead. Gloves tucked under arms. Lineup cards clipped to fences. Families finding their seats while two teammates finish one last round of catch. Six diamonds, each waiting for a game that will matter enormously to somebody.

Bring your team. There’s room here for the player you are today, and plenty of reasons to come back as the player you’re becoming.
